Mutual understanding as a core of teaching process
To my mind a great interaction between a tutor and her/his scholars is constructed on a solid foundation of respect, mutual understanding and confidence. To efficiently assess learners' needs and wants, the teacher must originally understand students and the place they are coming from. The instructor needs to be the first to unlock good interaction, as not all moms and dads and students will reveal that initiative. The tutor needs to also want to express her/his own hopes to the trainees; with a genuine mindset towards her/his trainees and demonstrating an interest for their study and their lives is important when doing this. When both the teacher and trainees realise each other's objectives and perspectives, the building blocks of mutual trust are developed. The teachers and trainees should have and seek trust as humans and personalities; tutors also seek trust in the labour meaning yet need to beware the way they stick to it. As a mentor, I will certainly adopt a position of administration, but I do not want to be an authoritarian or despot. I will likewise be able to be a pal and a trusted person for a number of my trainees, but I will not step over the boundary of professionalism.
A good teacher is...
I think that in order to foster learning in the best method possible, the teacher has to be passionate about the subject being learned, even if her or his students are not. She or he has to be the instructor for the students, and show the pros about each student's work in a sincere method, alongside impartial critic. The tutor should be ready to split the difference and listen, however be decisive in her or his decisions and promises.
A tutor is not only a teacher however lifetime student. My approach of teaching is based on what I know and have face at this moment in my career. I am sure that my mentor philosophy will alter as I find out more as a new specialist.
